ABOUT JACOB'S WELL CAMP
Gersan Valcin is a graduate from Dallas Theological Seminary and Senior pastor at The Village Church in Port-au-Prince. He received his Bachelor in Theology from Bethel Bible Institute in Quebec, Canada. He started his first pastoral ministry at the Baptist Evangelical Church of Quebec. Graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1995 and sensing God’s call to return to Haiti to minister to his own people, he moved his family back to Haiti in 1997.
From 1997 – 2003, his ministry focused on evangelism, discipleship and church planting. During that same period, Gersan taught at STEP- The Evangelical Seminary of Port-au-Prince. Gersan and his wife Betty planted over 72 churches!
From 2003 – 2016, Gersan served as the senior pastor at the Evangelical Community Church of Haiti and in 2007 he started the Jacob’s Well camp in Limbe, Haiti.
Betty is a woman with a heart for children and the people of Haiti as well as a loving wife and mother. She has been a mentor to many women from those living in villages to influential leaders, always striving to enhance God’s kingdom.
From 1998 – 2010, Betty served as the National Director for Awana in Haiti. She has ministered to thousands of children for over twenty years in church ministry with her husband and at Jacob’s Well camp. She holds a degree in education as a Kindergarten teacher from Ecole Normale et Jardinière d’Enfants in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. In addition to her role as Director of Operations for Jacob’s Well Camp ministries, she always accompanies Gersan on ministry trips around Haiti and overseas.
Betty and Gersan Valcin have been married since 1989 and are very proud of their daughters Elizabeth and Deborah.
